An Albemarle man is facing several drug charges, not only in Stanly County but also in Union County.
According to Albemarle Police, Marcus Terrell Sellars, 23, of 703 Coventry Dr., was arrested June 26 following a traffic stop on Efird Street near Church Street.
Sellars gave officers permission to search his vehicle, Albemarle Police Chief William Halliburton said.
“Officers found digital scales in the vehicle. They also found a bag of marijuana that contained 12 other bags of marijuana,” Halliburton said.
Albemarle Police charged Sellars with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana.
Police also served Sellars with several warrants originating from Union County. They included charges of felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver MDA/MDMA (ecstasy), as well as felony sell schedule I controlled substance, felony deliver schedule I controlled substance, felony trafficking in MDA/MDMA, felony possesion with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, misdemeanor possession of marijuana 1/2 to 1 1/2 ounces and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sellars is in the Stanly County Jail under a $260,000 bond and is scheduled for his first court appearance in Stanly County on Aug. 5. He also has a court date of Aug. 14 in Union County.
