Ralph Lewis Thompson, 82, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in CMC-Main, Charlotte, NC.
His funeral service will be 10 AM Friday, June 29, 2018 in the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care Chapel of Albemarle with Rev. Stoney Benfield, Rev. Dr. Darrell Huneycutt and Rev. Ray Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. At other times you may visit at their home.
Ralph was born February 22, 1936 in Rowan County, NC and was the son of the late Roman Lee Thompson and Flora Tina Whitley Thompson.
He was a retired employee of Wiscassett Mills and a member of Prospect Baptist Church.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Virginia Laton Thompson of the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Lisa Thompson Agner and husband Tommy of Salisbury, NC; sister, Lucille Thompson Efird of Albemarle, NC, and three grandchildren, T.D. Agner, Dusty Agner and Troy Agner.
Ralph is also preceded in death by a brother, Lester Thompson, and a sister, Aleen Thompson Whitley.
