I give the Stanly News and Press much of the credit for stopping, at least for now, the shenanigans of Rep. Burr as he tried to de-annex properties from three of our communities without their knowledge.
You shed an important light on the matter. You allowed the communities and other concerned cities to mobilize and you gave them a forum to voice their opposition.
To me, it shows the importance of having a local newspaper in a community our size. You can rest assured that the ever-shrinking Charlotte Observer would never cover a story like this in our county and other local media would not be as effective as your articles.
