Plyler Baptist Church, 25958 Austin Road, Albemarle, will conclude “Game On” vacation Bible school.
VBS will be 6-8:30 p.m.

Mt. View Baptist Church will conclude the “Jungle River Adventure” theme for vacation Bible school from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
VBS will include crafts and refreshments.

Sunday

Oak Grove Church, 32056 Herrin Grove Road, Mount Pleasant (Finger Community), celebrates its 133th homecoming and revival.
Kayla Aiton will lead with the message at 11 a.m.
A covered dish lunch will follow.

Congregational Christian Church, 1119 Carolina Ave., Albemarle, will celebrate its 106th homecoming at 11 a.m.
A covered dish meal will follow the service.
Everyone is invited.

Rev. Keith Walters

The Rev. Keith W. Walters will be guest speaker.
Walters grew up in Lancaster, South Carolina and is now a resident of New London.
He worked in a machine shop as a tool and die maker for 11 years before being called into the ministry in 1970.
He attended Wingate College and received an Associate of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest.
He pastored several churches in South Carolina and North Carolina from 1971-2012, including Kendalls Baptist Church, Mineral Springs Baptist Church and Paul’s Crossing Baptist Church in Stanly County.
After retiring from the ministry, he has worked with Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care as staff chaplain and funeral service assistant since 2010.
He and his wife, Robbie, are members of Kendalls Baptist Church and celebrated 60 years of marriage in June.
They have a son, Greg, a daughter, Lori, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He enjoys spending time with family, woodworking and studying God’s word.

Everyone is invited to join East Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in celebrating the 13th pastoral anniversary of the Rev. David Gaddy and his wife, Barbara, at 3 p.m.
The church is at 12776 Cottonville Road, Norwood.
The morning service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bryan Gaddy.
Dinner will be served following the morning service.
The evening service will begin at 3 p.m. The speaker will be the Rev. Tyrone Floyd of Union Springs A.M.E. Zion Church of Monroe.
The Kirkpatrick Family of Charlotte will be in concert during the evening service.

Green Memorial UMC Community Fellowship Day and Movie Night will be from 3-8 p.m.
Horseshoes, cornhole and other activities will be from 3-5 p.m., with a hot dog supper following from 5-6 p.m.
A movie will be shown beginning at 6.

Ken Shank will preach. Special music will commence each night.

Monday-July 27

Kinza Memorial Baptist Church, 4311 Love Mill Road, Stanfield, will have vacation Bible school “Game On! Gearing Up for Life’s Big Game” from 6-8:30 p.m. for ages 2 through adult.
An Adult Bible Study class will be offered each evening.
Vacation Bible school kicks off at 5 p.m. Monday with a tailgating party.
There will be music, Bible stories, crafts, recreation and refreshments each evening.
Guests are expected and encouraged to attend.

Pastor Brian Johnson of Perfecting Life Global Ministries and the church will have a Youth Night at 6:30 p.m. at 1970 E. Main St., Suite 10, Albemarle.
All youth and children of the church are invited to come.

Badin United Methodist Church, 18 Hickory St., will have vacation Bible school from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Children through eighth grade are welcome to enjoy arts, crafts, Bible stories, activites and lunch.
Kids are asked to bring a bathing suit and towel for a surprise.

The Pathfinders will be in concert at 11 a.m. Cottonville Baptist Church, 4888 Plank Road, Norwood.

July 30-Aug. 3

Highland Baptist Church, 106 Highland Dr., New London, will have its vacation Bible school from 6-8 p.m. for ages 3 through 12th grade.
The theme is “Team Jesus” and it will include crafts, lessons, snacks and games.

Aug. 4

Porter and Randall United Methodist churches will have vacation Bible school from 9 a.m.-noon at Porter UMC, 40031 Porter Road, Norwood.
The theme is “Camping with Jesus,” so there will be lots of camping themed activities and crafts, as well as mission opportunities for children ranging from preschool to fifth grade.

Aug. 12

Lumber River Ministries will present a concert of gospel music at Cottonville Baptist Church at 4888 Plank Road, Norwood, at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
The Lumber River Quartet are a well known southern gospel ministry that travels and ministers all across the U.S. and Canada. Ronald, Glenn and Greg have appeared on TV, radio and are national recording artists.
