Jerry Boyd Efird, 70, of Stanfield went home to Glory July 20, 2018 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehab in Albemarle after a long battle with Parkinson’s.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 23, at Loves Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim White officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 in the church fellowship hall. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
Born May 29, 1948 in Stanly County, Jerry was the son of the late Carl Grant Efird and the late Annie Julia Surratt Efird.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Long Efird of the home; two sons, Jeremy (Cathy) Efird and Lionell Efird, all of Albemarle; brother, Bill Efird of Albemarle; sisters, Carol (Larry) Kimrey, Patricia (Terry) Harris of Albemarle and Peggy (Donnie) Harris of Reidsville, N.C., and four grandchildren.
Mr. Efird is preceded in death by his brother Carl Efird, sisters Marlene Harris and Claudine Simpson and one grandson.
