Stanly Community College recently honored the 2018 Medical Assisting graduates during a breakfast at the Crutchfield Education Center in Locust. Thirteen students completed the program this year.
The Medical Assisting curriculum prepares multi-skilled healthcare professionals who are qualified to perform administrative, clinical, and laboratory procedures. Employment opportunities include ambulatory settings such as physicians’ offices, clinics and group practices.
Stanly Community College offers a variety of program options including a Medical Assisting degree, certificate, or diploma, as well as a Medical Billing and Coding certificate option.
The Career and College Promise program is a state program that allows high school junior and senior students (with a GPA of 3.0 or higher) to take tuition-free college courses. SCC’s CCP program currently offers eight tuition-free courses for the Medical Assisting program.
