Dear Stanly Early College Students and Parents,

Welcome back! The faculty of SEC and I are excited to welcome our new and returning students for the 2018-2019. This year our total enrollment will be approximately 216 students. We are pleased to welcome 53 new freshmen, 49 sophomores, 43 juniors, 27 seniors and 47 graduating Super Seniors.

Stanly Early College had a great 2017-2018 school year. Here a few highlights of what our faculty and students accomplished last school year:

• 39 out of 46 of our graduates graduated having earned their high school diploma and Associates Degree. All of our students graduated with earned transferrable college credit.

• Stanly Early College students completed 864 total college classes at Stanly Community College during the 2017-2018 school year, earning more than 2,000 hours of transferrable college credit.

• Our graduating class was awarded close to $800,000 in college scholarship money.

• Our students in all grade levels completed more than 6,000 hours of community service hours during the 2017-2018 school year.

• Stanly Early College was the only public or charter school in Stanly County to earn an A on the 2017-2018 North Carolina Schools State Report Card. Overall, we exceeded growth in all of our state assessments and met growth on our state report card.

• We were recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top high schools in the state of North Carolina and the United States.

We are extremely proud of our students and their accomplishments.

We know that great things are going to continue to happen at SEC during the 2018-2019 school year. Upperclassmen Orientation will be held on Wednesday beginning at 2 p.m.
