The Uwharrie Players announce upcoming auditions for “On Golden Pond.”
Auditions are scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Players’ clubhouse, 546 E. Main St., Albemarle.
Show dates will be Oct. 12-14 and Oct. 19-21. Sunday shows are 3 p.m. matinees, Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m.
The characters for the show are:
• Norman Thayer Jr., a 79-year-old male with a dry sense of humor, boyish and spunky;
• Ethel Thayer, a 69-year-old female, adorable and very energetic;
• Charlie Martin, a 44-year-old male with a strong Maine accent and belly laugh;
• Chelsea Thayer Wayne, the 42-year-old daughter of Norman and Ethel, who is athletic with a nervous edge to her;
• Young Billy Ray, 13-year-old flippant and awkward male;
• Older Billy Ray, a 45-year-old male who is self-serving and has a good sense of humor.
