Kaye Louise Brattain, 76, of Locust, N.C. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 23, 2018.

Kaye was born April 5, 1942 in Stanly County, N.C. to the late Henry Drake and the late Loma Drake.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Harlan Brattain; son, Kelly Brattain and wife Freda; daughter, Michelle Brattain; grandsons Matthew Brattain and wife Amanda, Andrew Brattain, Daniel Brattain and Brandon Kiker; as well as sisters Jahala Almond and husband Wayne; and Mabel Eudy and husband Johnny.

Kaye retired after a nursing career from Stanly Memorial Hospital. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Kaye will be dearly missed by all those who loved her.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jesse Herring. Burial will follow in the Red Cross Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
