REGIONAL: Approval sought for an 89-bed nursing facility in China Grove

RALEIGH — Britthaven Inc., Hillco Ltd. and Granite Falls LTC, LLC have filed a certificate of need application with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service to relocate 89 nursing facility beds to develop a new facility, including a 30-bed special care unit, in China Grove in Rowan County.

Forty-nine nursing facility beds will be relocated from Premier Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Onslow County, 20 will be relocated from Jacob’s Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Rockingham County and 20 will be relocated from Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Chowan County.

The project is expected to cost $15.2 million and would be completed in October 2021.

A public hearing for this project will be held Sept. 18 at noon in the Hurley Room of Rowan Public Library, 201 W. Fisher St., Salisbury.

Anyone may file written comments concerning this proposal. Comments must be received by the Healthcare Planning and Certificate of Need Section no later than 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 31.
