Lindell L. Morton, 76, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Stanly Manor.

Mr. Morton was born February 6, 1942 in Stanly County to the late Adam Luther Morton and the late Mary Floyd Morton. He was also preceded in death by his three sisters and one brother.

Lindell officiated in numerous baseball and basketball games as an Official Umpire in the Amateur Softball Association. He was Duke University’s #1 fan.

The receiving of friends will be held from 10-10:45 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2018 in the church sanctuary at Canton Baptist Church, 24615 Endy Road in Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Mark Mabry. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Survivors include his extended family members of Albemarle High School Class of 1960.
