Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Oakboro, will celebrate 100 years with homecoming and revival.
Guest speaker for the 11 a.m. service will be the Rev. Tyson of Mt. Sinani Baptist Church, Charlotte.
The afternoon service will begin at 2:30. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Joseph McFarland.
The revivalist for the week will be the Rev. Jerry Aiken, from Hodges, South Carolina.
Revival will be 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday.

Sept. 8

Uwharrie Community Church, 1510 Moss Springs Road, Albemarle, will sponsor a women’s conference called “At The Well.”
The event will be filled with inspiration through songs, drama, speakers, comedy and more.
Special guests include Cheryl Fellores, Michelle McNair, Donna Smith and Karen Messick.
Breakfast will be at 8 a.m. and the event will start at 9 a.m. The event is free.

The United Methodist Women of Union Chapel Methodist Church, U.S. Highway 52 Business South, near fairgrounds, will have a yard sale from 7 a.m.-until on the church grounds.
Sausage biscuits and coffee will be available, as well as hot dogs, cold drinks and baked goods.
Proceeds will be used for the UMW mission projects.

Sept. 9

Grace Baptist Church, 644 Edgemont St., Albemarle, will have its 97th homecoming at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Nathan Fox bringing the message.
A covered dish meal will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall.
All are invited.

Sept. 9-12

First Baptist Church of New London will begin its annual homecoming Sept. 9. Lunch will be served after morning worship.
The speaker for the 3 p.m. service will be the Rev. Jayvan Clyburn of First Baptist Church of Wadesboro.
The speaker for the three nights of revival will be the Rev. Donnelle Taylor of East Rocky Ford Church of Wadesboro. Night services begin at 7.

Grace Baptist Church, 644 Edgemont St., Albemarle, will have Miraculous Mondays of September revival beginning Sept. 10.
Sept. 10, the Rev. Jeff Holder, pastor of Society Baptist Church, Statesville, will bring the message.
Sept. 17, the Rev. Danny Laws, pastor of South Albemarle Baptist Church, will bring the message.
Sept. 24, the Rev. Terry Burris, pastor of Stoney Fork Baptist Church, Mount Gilead, will bring the message.
All are invited to come and enjoy the choir specials, special music, great fellowship and the messages.

Sept. 16

St. Matthew United Church of God, 813 W. 8th St., Oakboro, will have its annual Missionary Day program at 4 p.m.
The speaker will be Elder Sandra Ford of Greater St. James United Church of God, Charlotte.
The pastor of St. Matthew is Elder Perry Hester.

“Another Afternoon with John Denver,” part of New London United Methodist Church’s continuing Music and Missions series, will be from 4:30-6 p.m.
Rod Almond and friends will once again present an hour and a half of John Denver’s music, recreating a typical concert from before Denver’s untimely passing 21 years ago.
There is no charge to attend, but donations are accepted.
All proceeds go to Stanly County Homes of Hope, Inc., a non-profit organization working to reduce homelessness in Stanly County through transitional housing, emergency housing, case management, resource connections and skill acquisition that will enable individuals and families in need to gain independence and become successful community members.

Sept. 29

Mt. Zion Baptist Church will hold a financial literacy class from 10 a.m.-noon Sept. 29 at 401 Wall St., Albemarle.
The event will include credit repair seminar, budgeting and saving money and financial literacy class for grades 6-12.
The event is free.
There will be child care services provided for elementary age children during the event.

Centerview Baptist Church, 508 NE Connector, Albemarle, will host a women’s conference, “Anchored in the Storms of Life,” from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. Sept. 29.
The program includes keynote speakers Tara Furman of Knowing God Ministries and Renea Henderson, a Christian humorist. Musical guests are Kristi Vance and Jordan Caddell.
Cost of $15 includes lunch.
