Pfeiffer volleyball wins in five at Randolph

The Pfeiffer University volleyball team rebounded after losing the first set to take a thrilling 3-2 (15-25, 25-13, 17-25, 25-9, 15-11) road win over Randolph on Wednesday evening at the RAD Center.

The Falcons got superb performances from a pair of freshmen in Alonna Clouse and Angelina Fardella.  Clouse, a Harrisburg, N.C. product, finished the match with a double-double, tallying a game-high 19 kills while hitting for a .214 percentage.  Clouse was also stellar defensively, registering 31 digs.  Fardella, also from Harrisburg, N.C., dished 37 assists and had 17 digs.

Teammates Emma Gray Beacham (Laurinburg, N.C.) had 21 digs while Bri Weber (Jesup, Iowa) also contributed 14 digs.

The win improves Pfeiffer to 2-4 on the season while Randolph drops to 0-5.

The Falcons will return to the friendly confines of Merner Gym on Friday night, hosting Guilford for a 6:30 p.m. match.
