Due to the anticipated effects of Hurricane Florence, all Pfeiffer University classes will move to online-only status and a voluntary evacuation will be effective Wednesday at 6 p.m. There will be no seated classes at the Misenheimer, Charlotte or Raleigh campus after Wednesday at 6 p.m. Students will be responsible for keeping up with coursework remotely whenever possible. Weather permitting, all classes and campus activities will resume their regular schedule on Monday.

Students who are able to relocate to a safe location during the voluntary evacuation are encouraged to do so. In the event of a power outage, residence halls will be without lights. Provisions have been made to keep dining services fully operational along with bathroom facilities and some lighting in the Stokes Student Center. Additional information regarding campus safety during Hurricane Florence will be released soon.

Student-athletes should coordinate with their coaches for additional sports-related information.

At this time the university will remain open. Staff members are to report to campus on Thursday and Friday. Campus officials will continue to monitor the potential impact on Pfeiffer and update information as necessary.
