An event that was scheduled for tonight had to be postponed.

Albemarle Downtown Development Corporation (ADDC) will now present Brew U, an event for local college students, at GloryBeans CoffeeHouse from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 18.

Each student that presents a valid college ID at this event will receive a free frappe, smoothie or latte, be eligible for door prizes and enjoy live music by acoustic duo Alec and Austin.

“We’re excited to offer an event that welcomes our area college students, and hope that they will ‘think downtown’ for dining out, shopping and other things to do,” said Joy Almond, who is the Main Street manager for the city of Albemarle and director for Albemarle Downtown Development.
