DMV office loses internet service

RALEIGH – An outage from an N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles’ internet service provider impacted several driver license offices and license plate agencies in central North Carolina Thursday afternoon.

The outage is affecting offices from the Triad to the Charlotte metro area, and has forced one office to close early. Those offices include: Albemarle, Concord, Harrisburg, High Point, Indian Trail, Kannapolis, Lexington, Mooresville, Polkton, Rural Hall, Salisbury, Thomasville, Wadesboro.

Officials with Spectrum Business Services have not indicated what exactly caused the outage or when the outage will be repaired.

The outage has also impacted several N.C. Department of Transportation local offices in the state Division of Highways.

Many DMV services, such as license renewal, registration renewal and address changes, can be accessed online through the official DMV website at MyNCDMV.gov.
