The annual cleaning of Flat Rock Cemetery will be 8:30 a.m. Oct. 6.

Originally affiliated with the Lutheran church, the upkeep of the cemetery presently rests with volunteers dedicated to preserving its history. The cemetery is a historic site with grave markers dating back to the early 1800s.

Volunteers are asked to donate a few hours for the annual cleanup. Please bring tools for the yard maintenance, such as rakes, shovels, weed eater, etc.

The cemetery is just off N.C. Highway 200 South between Locust and Stanfield. The driveway to the cemetery is across from Berea Baptist Church.
