Friends of the Library will host fall book sale

Friends of the Stanly County Public Library will have its fall book sale in the lower level of the library, 133 E. Main St., Albemarle.

Preview night for members is 4-7 p.m. Oct. 10. Memberships will be available at the door.

Friends members with active paid memberships have the opportunity to shop for books at half price.

The sale is open to the public 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 11 and 12 and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 13.

On Oct. 13, books can be purchased for $1 per bag.

The book sale includes hardbacks, paperbacks, CDs, books on tape, DVDs, videos, and more.

Hardbacks and large soft covers are $1, trade paperbacks and children’s paperbacks are $.25, children’s hardbacks are $.50, books on tape, records and DVDs are $.50.

There are thousands of books and other items on sale for all interest areas. Lots of children’s books are available also.

Proceeds from the sale help the Friends of the Stanly County Library support public library services in all branches.

Friends of the Stanly County Library was formed in 1992 as a non-profit organization to provide support of the Stanly County Library and encourage use of services, inform others of issues affecting the library and assist in increasing literacy in Stanly County library.

Each year the group sponsors special events such as author presentations, workshops, book sales in the spring and fall and the Children’s Summer Reading Program.
