Donald Edwin Harrison, Sr., age 80, passed away at his home on October 1, 2018.
He was born July 30, 1938 in Harris County, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Gwen Hardin, and his father, Charlie Harrison; stepfather, Howard Dowdy; his maternal grandparents, Oscar and Juanita Cole. Mr. Harrison was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Harrison, his grandsons, Daniel Eugene Hattaway and Christopher Andrew Maske, as well as a great-grandson, Ryker Cole Baker.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Nellie Dobbs Harrison of the home; a sister, Patsy Kelley of Longview, Texas; a son, Donnie Harrison of Brooks, Georgia; his  daughters, Claudia Weyandt of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Dawn Poe (Mitch) of Pleasant Garden, North Carolina, and Arline Howard (David) of Amarillo, Texas. Eight grandchildren, Melissa Moody (Ben), Jeremy Harrison, Cassandra Hattaway, Mark Lee, Chase Harrison (Leslie), Samantha Baker, Rebecca Howell and Stormi Whitmire also survive him. Nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews, also survive Mr. Harrison.
Visitation for Mr. Harrison will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Safe Harbor Baptist Church in Salisbury, North Carolina. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. officiated by Pastors Josh Montgomery of Safe Harbor Baptist Church and Don Crusenberry of Mt. Creek Baptist Church in Albemarle, North Carolina.
