The 13th annual Fall Festival and Kids Costume Parade is set for Oct. 25 in downtown Albemarle from 5-7 p.m. and will be sponsored by Sparger Investments.

The festivities will kick off with a costume parade down North Second Street.
Parade participants should arrive in front of Second Street Sundries by 4:45 p.m.

At 5 p.m., the North Stanly Marching Comets drumline will lead participants down Second Street. Children (12 and under) will have the opportunity to trick-or-treat throughout downtown, visiting participating businesses.

During this time, Albemarle Parks and Recreation will host a costume contest at Courthouse Square Park.

Other family events include face painting, food vendors and a kid’s activity sponsored by the Stanly Community College Early Childhood Education Department. Also, a bounce house will be stationed at First Baptist Church of Albemarle.

For trick-or-treaters’ safety, downtown streets will be closed between 5-7 p.m. on First and Second streets between North and South streets, and Main Street between Depot and Third streets.

The Fall Festival is a collaborative effort of the City of Albemarle, Albemarle Downtown Development Corporation and Albemarle Parks and Recreation in an effort to bring a fun, safe, family-oriented event to historic downtown Albemarle.
