Michael Wayne Carriker, 70, of Oakboro, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Carriker was born June 18, 1948 in Cabarrus County to the late John David Carriker and the late Pauline Lutish Barbee Carriker.
Mike loved his family and grandchildren and spending time outdoors especially trips to the mountains. He is known for his smile and being a friend to all. Mike was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Locust.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 3:00PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland’s chapel officiated by Rev. Jimmie Bartley and Rev. Daryl Sykes. Burial will be held at Freedom Baptist Church cemetery, 20015 Coley Store Road, Locust with military honors.
Survivors include wife of 46 years, Teresa Marie Hatley Carriker of Oakboro; son, Charlie and wife Amy Carriker of Oakboro; grandchildren, Logan, Chloe, Trinity, and Kendalyn Carriker; sister, Joyce Dean (Rev. Tommy) Carriker Lambert; and brother, Robert David Carriker.
