Billy Joel Morris, 80, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Morris was born March 2, 1938 in Stanly County to the late Milton Alton Morris and the late Evie Morris.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Genell Morris; sisters, Kathleen Morris, Betty Burleson, Hazel Klutz; and brother, Bobby Morris.
Billy worked most of his life at Wiscassett Mills. He loved to hunt and fish. Billy dearly loved his wife and family. He was a good Christian man.
The family will receive friends from 2:00PM – 2:45PM, Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 3:00PM in the Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Athea Harris. Burial will follow the service at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery at 32283 Bethlehem Church Road, Norwood.
Survivors include daughter, Cathy Burris of Albemarle; son, Don Morris and wife BJ of New London; grandson, Caleb Reece Burris of Albemarle; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County and the Uwharrie, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
