Comets’ tennis advances in playoffs with home win

The North Stanly Comets women’s tennis team hosted the North Stokes Vikings last Wednesday in the opening round of the state 1A dual team tennis playoffs.
North took five of the six singles’ match and swept doubles to take an 8-1 victory over the Vikings.
The Comets will travel to Mooresville to take on the Pine Lake Prep Pride (6-1) in a second-round playoffs match Tuesday.
All of the North starters will also compete on Friday in Elkin at the 1A West individual regionals.
