Everyone is invited to weekly Storytime and crafts today and every Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Bring a friend for a cool reading adventure.
Badin Library hours are Monday, 3-7 p.m., Tuesday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., and Thursday, 3-7 p.m.

Branch Manager Treva Allmon will offer a Christmas crafts session for adults at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 27. On Dec. 4 adults will have an opportunity to make Christmas cards.

Badin UMC
United Methodist Women will host the annual Fall Bazaar from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Find bargains amid a wide selection of books, toys, kitchen and decorative items and clothing.
Pastor Beau Linker is leading a football outing on Nov. 17 to watch the UNC Tar Heels take on the Western Carolina Catamounts. Tickets are $10 and need to be paid by Nov. 11.
Fans will meet at 8 a.m. Nov. 17 at Bojangles in Albemarle.
Please bring money for breakfast/lunch and souvenirs.

Morrow Mountain
Read With a Ranger will be 10-11 a.m. Sunday at the Lodge. “The Peregrine’s Journey: A Story of Migration” will tell of a falcon’s journey from Alaska to Argentina. Afterward, children will make a backyard bird feeder.
The Kron House will be open for visitors on Nov. 17 from 2-3 p.m. Enjoy a look back into the 1800-era life of Dr. Kron who served the community as one of the first physicians in the Southern Piedmont.
A ranger-led hike at 1 p.m. Nov. 25 on the Morrow Mountain loop trail (0.8 mi.) offers a look at the geological history of the Uwharrie Mountains and their significance for Native Americans. At the end, participants will learn how to use an ancient hunting tool called an atlatl. Bring a water bottle, wear sturdy hiking shoes and meet at the Scenic Vista on the mountain.

Holiday Closings
Badin Elementary teachers have Professional Days Monday and Nov. 21. School will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 22-23.
Town Hall will likewise be closed Monday and Nov. 22 and 23.

Town Business
Town Council will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Town Hall, 36 Falls Road. Visitors are always welcome.
Better Badin, Inc. holds its monthly meeting Monday at Town Hall at 6:30 p.m.
Come get involved as these faithful volunteers make plans to decorate Falls Road and prepare for various seasonal community events. Help is always welcome.

Holiday Happenings
Come enjoy feasting together as a community at the 3rd annual Love Thy Neighbor Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 17 at Ike’s Community Center, 507 Roosevelt St. Fill a plate of turkey and homemade fixings and enjoy this time of neighborhood fellowship. The meal is free, courtesy of Palestine UMC.
Give thanks together as a community at the combined Thanksgiving Service at 6 p.m. Nov. 18 at Badin Baptist Church on Falls Road.

Nov. 25 is the day of “The Glorious Sounds of Christmas” concert by the Charlotte Festive Brass, an ensemble of professional musicians from Charlotte.
Directed by Albemarle native David Mills, the group promises an evening of festive and inspiring music in the acoustic-rich sanctuary of Badin Baptist Church, 28 Falls Road.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for $15 at Loafers and Legends, The Country House Antiques and online through www.eventbrite.com.
Come for Badin’s traditional Christmas Tree Lighting on Nov. 27 starting at 6 p.m. Shops will be open, Better Badin, Inc. folks will serve refreshments, Badin Elementary children will sing Christmas carols and Santa and Mrs. Claus are expected to make a timely arrival so families may take their own pictures with the famous pair.
The Stanly County Chorale and North Stanly High School Chorus and Handbell Choir will perform their second seasonal concert on Dec. 11 at Badin Baptist Church, 28 Falls Road, at 7 p.m.
Best loved Christmas arrangements of the English composer John Rutter will be performed by the combined choral groups and directed by Aza Hudson, NSHS musical director.
A love offering will be given.
