South women ground Eagles on the road

Outscoring the hosts by 12 points, the South Stanly women’s basketball team earned its second straight win of the season Friday night, 62-47, at East Montgomery.

Three players led South Stanly (2-0) with 11 points each, including Tanaya Harris who was 5-of-12 from the floor including a made 3-pointer.

Two freshmen also scored 11 points for the Bulls in the win. Kalea LeGrande shot 5-of-13 in the game while Keeli Crisco hit 5-of-9 overall to also reach double figures in points.
LeGrande also led South with six steals.

Huntley Rummage paced South with 14 rebounds and Mattie Hinson added 10 boards in the win.
South travels to West Stanly (0-2) tonight.
