South men lose at buzzer at East Rowan, 60-57

The South Stanly men’s basketball team lost on Wednesday night in the final seconds of a non-conference road game at East Rowan, 60-57.

Justin Gaddy, who led South (4-4) with 15 points, had a chance to send the game to overtime with a 3-pointer at the buzzer, but the ball rimmed out.

Jaquez Cooke added 13 for the Bulls and Addison Tarlton reached double figures for South with 12.

Gabe Hinceman paced the Mustangs (5-4) and led all scorers in the game with 20.

The Bulls will take on Central Cabarrus on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in the opening round of the Laurie Anne Cruse Christmas basketball tournament.
