Albemarle men stay tied for second, win at Uwharrie Charter

The Albemarle men’s basketball team got out to an early advantage and maintained it for the rest of the contest in a 48-32 conference win Tuesday at Uwharrie Charter.

Marc Raye Jr. led the Bulldogs (9-8, 7-2 YVC) with 15 points while Ali Currie reached double figures with 11 points.

Garrett McCollum was top scorer for the Eagles (4-11, 3-6) with 12.

The 32 points allowed to the Eagles was the second-lowest total Albemarle has allowed defensively this season.

Albemarle enters Friday’s game at Pfeiffer University against North Stanly (9-5, 6-2) with a chance to sweep the regular-season series with the Comets.
