Gray Stone women win big at home over West Montgomery

With Tuesday’s lopsided 64-25 home win over West Montgomery, the Gray Stone women’s basketball stayed a game ahead of North Rowan for second place in the Yadkin Valley Conference standings.

Danielle Werts led four in double figures for the Knights (11-4, 7-2 YVC) with 14. Secorra Medley added 12 for Gray Stone while Olivia Payne and Lillie Austin each contributed 10.

Abbey Jean Hurley led the Warriors (0-12, 0-9) with 10.

The win for Gray Stone was the team’s fourth in a row, a win streak which has put the Knights into double digits in wins for the sixth straight season.

Gray Stone goes on the road Friday to take on South Stanly (7-9, 4-4); the Bulls lost on Tuesday night to North Rowan, 41-37.
