Bulldog men fall at South Davidson, 70-64

Despite a big night from Albemarle freshman guard M.J. Raye, the Bulldogs men’s basketball team fell on the road at South Davidson 70-64.
Raye poured in 28 points for the Bulldogs (13-9, 11-4 YVC), including a perfect 8-for-8 at the foul line. Dasean Horne added 13 for Albemarle.
Hunter Hicks led three in double figures in the upset win for South Davidson (4-19, 4-9) with 18 points. Jacob Byerly added 14, while Thomas Ellington scored 13 for the Wildcats.
The loss for Albemarle drops the team a half game behind South Stanly (11-3) into third in the YVC standings. The Bulldogs wrap up the regular season on the road Friday taking on the Rebel Bulls.
