Stanly County Planning Director Michael Sandy resigned Feb. 11 after more than 20 years with the county.

“Michael resigned to pursue other interests,” County Manager Andy Lucas said.

Bob Remsburg, a county planner, has been named interim planning director.

“Bob’s a good guy. He will certainly do a good job in that role,” Lucas said.

A job posting for a planning and zoning director is up on the county’s website. The last date to apply is March 8.
