Albemarle man faces multiple drug charges

A man is facing multiple charges following a recent search of an Albemarle home.

Around 11 a.m. Feb. 6, the Stanly County Narcotic Task Force, which is comprised of detectives with Albemarle Police Department and Stanly County Sheriff’s Office, along with members of Homeland Security, executed a search warrant at 626 Elizabeth Ave.

Detectives seized about 119 grams of crack cocaine, 25 grams of hydrocodone, 5.1 grams of oxycodone and other dosage units of prescription medications. Also seized were $3,947.35 and a firearm.

Arrested was Mario Thomas of the residence. He was charged with one count of trafficking cocaine, two counts of trafficking opiates, One count of possession with Intent to sell and deliver cocaine, one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone, one count of possession with intent to sell and deliver hydrocodone, one count of possession with intent to dell and deliver marijuana and one count of felony maintaining a dwelling.

Thomas received a $250,000 secured bond to appear in court.
