North Stanly FFA member places in farm show competition

North Stanly High FFA member Blake Fraley competed in the state truck and tractor driving career development event at the Southern Farm Show Jan. 31. He placed second in truck driving and sixth in tractor driving.

During the truck competition, Fraley used skills that included backing a truck, parking and driving through obstacles placed in his way. Throughout this competition students are judged on knowledge and safety skills.

During the tractor contest, he to pull and maneuver a small trailer attached to a tractor and also move through the obstacles without touching boundary lines.

“I am very proud of Blake and how he placed at the contest,” North Stanly agriculture teacher Danny Blake said.
