Pfeiffer’s Sherrilll named USA South Softball Player of the Week

Pfeiffer University senior softball player Vada Blue Sherrill has been tabbed as the USA South Softball Player of the Week.
The shortstop from Hiddenite went a combined 3-for-5 (.600) with a .714 on-base percentage and a 1.800 slugging percentage to go along with five runs scored, three RBI, one double, one triple, one home run, two walks and three stolen bases in a doubleheader sweep of Piedmont International to begin the season for the Falcons.
In game-two against the Bruins, Sherrill was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, two RBI, one double, one home run, one walk and one stolen base.
The Pfeiffer softball team will return to action on Monday with a doubleheader at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Biddleville Park.
