Charles Ervin Woodall

Charles Ervin Woodall, 79, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Rev. David Hatley and Rev. James Valk will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Edwards Funeral Home.
Mr. Woodall was born on November 20, 1939 in Meridian, MS to the late Henry Cecil and Lucille Shankle Woodall.
He was a 1958 Norwood High School graduate and also received an associate’s degree in Accounting from Stanly Community College and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He worked with Young Manufacturing in Norwood from 1961 to 1988 and retired as production manager from Lexington Furniture in Lexington, N.C.
He was a longtime active member from Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, and Lay Speaker.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Williams Woodall; and his brother Ronald Woodall.
He is survived by his fiancé, Carolyn Preslar, of Albemarle; three sons: Larry Woodall (Nancy) of Peachland, Scott Woodall (Tonya) of New London, and Jonathan Woodall (Jennifer) of Oakboro; one daughter: LeAnna Presnell (Bryan) of Norwood; Carolyn’s daughters: Angie Peele (Spencer), Pam Langston (Danny) all of Albemarle, Lisa Hinson (Calvin) of New London; one brother: Donald Woodall of Ansonville; two sisters: Cecile Crump Beasley of Ansonville, and Audrey Pinion of Charlotte; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Woodall of Norwood; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; Carolyn’s 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
