The West Stanly women’s basketball team advanced to the finals of the Rocky River Conference tournament after posting a 44-40 win Thursday night over the Anson Bearcats.

Raelee Furr and Maryn Mauldin each scored 12 points to lead West (14-12). Carmen Bishop
added nine points for West while Dani Moss posted eight points.

Revie Byers led the Bearcats (8-12) with 13 points while Ayie Baucom added 10 points.
West’s win in the semifinals Thursday put the Colts into the tournament finals against Forest Hills, who won 61-19 over Mount Pleasant.

In men’s action, the Colts lost in the semifinals to host Mount Pleasant, 50-47.
