Stanly Co. Gymnastics season continues at Myrtle Beach event

The Stanly County Gymnastics girls competitive team participated in its fourth competition of the season in Myrtle Beach, S.C. at the Coastal Classic hosted by Thomas Gymnastics last weekend.
Stanly competed against teams from states including New Hampshire, Michigan, Rhode Island, Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, North and South Carolina.
Gymnasts are judged on each of the four Olympic events and receive a score out of a possible 10. Each event score is added together for the all-around score out of a possible 40. The highest three individual scores on each event are added together for the team score.
In the Bronze division, Sophie Poplin placed first on vault and beam, third on bars with a 9.55, second on floor and first all-around with a 37.875.
Maci Bailey placed third on vault, first on bars and floor, first on beam with a 9.55 and first all-around with a 37.65.
Blake Howell placed first on vault with a 9.2, third on beam with a 9.45 and second all-around with a 37.225.
Brooklyn Jarrell placed first on vault, first on bars with a 9.525, second on floor and first all-around with a 37.2.
Marley Cox placed second on vault, first on beam with a 9.625, second on floor and first all-around with a 37.1.
Lillian Carter placed fourth on vault, second on beam with a 9.475 and third all-around with a 37.1.
Skylar Leathers placed second on vault, second on beam with a 9.5, third on floor and second all-around with a 36.875.
Camdyn Plyler placed second on vault, first on beam with a 9.575 and third all-around with a 36.8.
Elin Bowers placed third on bars, first on floor with a 9.6 and fourth all-around with a 36.775.
Maddy Rose Warner scored a 9.35 on bars and placed fourth on beam, floor and in the all-around with a 36.725.
Nicole Magana placed second on vault with a 9.45 and fourth all-around with a 36.7.
Katherine Lee placed second on bars with a 9.475 and fourth all-around with a 36.625.
Mallory Varner placed third on vault, second on bars with a 9.425 and fourth all-around with a 36.625.
Avery Isenhour placed fourth on beam and floor with a 9.425 and medaled in the all-around with a 36.525.
The SCG Bronze team placed first in the team competition with contributing scores from Bailey, Bowers, Cox, Howell, Isenhour, Lee, Magana, Plyler, Poplin and Jarrell. This is the first year of competition for most of the Bronze team.
In the Silver division, Kaylee Hernandez placed fourth on vault, first on bars with a 9.725, first on beam with a 9.75, first on floor with a 9.65 and first all-around with a 38.525. Hernandez also won the “Coastal Queen” award by scoring the highest all-around score of her session.
Maddie Harwood placed first on vault with a 9.475, first on bars with a 9.625, third on beam with a 9.475, first on floor with a 9.6 and first all-around with a 38.175.
Averi Hathcock placed second on beam with a 9.575, second on floor with a 9.6 and third all-around with a 37.8.
Veronica Crist scored a 9.4 on beam, placed third on bars with a 9.55 and fourth all-around with a 37.65.
Cadyn Ritchie placed fourth on bars, second on beam and floor with a 9.65 and second all-around with a 37.6.
Trinity Robinson placed second on beam with a 9.55, first on floor with a 9.6 and first all-around with a 37.6.
Emily Deese placed first on bars with a 9.775, first on floor with a 9.4 and second all-around with a 37.525.
Leslie Hatley placed first on bars with a 9.8, fourth on beam, second on floor with a 9.43 and third all-around with a 37.375.
Lilly Russell placed fourth on bars with a 9.625, first on floor with a 9.625 and medaled in the all-around with a 37.175.
Kenslie Little placed fourth on beam with a 9.325, second on floor with a 9.35 and fourth all-around with a 37.0.
Addison Wagoner placed first on beam with a 9.575, third on floor with a 9.4 and medaled in the all-around with a 36.95.
Journee Dunlap a 9.35 on beam, placed third on vault with a 9.15 and fourth all-around with a 36.775.
The SCG Silver team placed first in the team competition with contributing scores from Crist, Deese, Harwood, Hatley, Hernandez, Ritchie, Wagoner and Russell.
In the Gold division, Ella Cumming placed first on bars with a 9.55, third on floor with a 9.55 and third all-around with a 37.4.
Lauren Jones placed first on vault with a 9.375, first on beam with a 9.3, first on floor with a 9.625 and first all-around with a 37.0.
Kayden Eudy scored a 9.075 on beam, placed fourth on floor with a 9.35 and medaled in the all-around with a 36.1.
Jatelynne Lee placed fourth on beam with a 9.325, scored a 9.175 on floor and medaled in the all-around with a 36.025.
Shyane Burleson placed second on vault, first on beam with a 9.3, third on floor with a 9.3 and fourth all-around with a 35.825.
Campbell Whitley scored a 9.125 on bars, a 9.175 on floor and medaled in the all-around with a 35.725.
Ava Singletary scored a 9.025 on bars, a 9.15 on floor and medaled in the all-around with a 35.625.
Ellie Russell scored an 8.65 on vault, a 9.2 on floor and medaled in the all-around.
The SCG Gold team placed fourth in the team competition with contributing scores from Burleson, Cumming, Eudy, Jones, Lee, Singletary and Whitley.
In the Platinum division, Sheridan Drew placed fourth on vault, fourth on bars with a 9.3, third on floor with a 9.375 and third all-around with a 36.55.
Mya Madaris scored a 9.075 on beam, placed second on floor with a 9.6 and fourth all-around with a 36.375.
The girls on the SCG team are now preparing for the North Carolina State Championships for their respective levels.
