LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Death is an important matter

Published 4:12 pm Tuesday, March 12, 2019

I have a question I’d like to have answered. I have tried for years to get this done and nobody will give me any answers as to why you can’t do it.

You are online you have this website and this is a problem big in this county.

Our newspaper does not come out every day.

Events such as deaths are very important. When you miss one it means a lot to family relatives and friends, in and out of town.

Often we find out after-the-fact which causes many problems in relationships and families.

Why is it that you cannot update the website and Facebook with the obituaries as soon as you find out about them?

Why can’t you post it on there?

I’m sure 99.9 percent of the town would support me on this.

I don’t expect you to print a newspaper every day if you don’t think you can afford it and a little paper sure doesn’t have enough news in it to carry that, but you can update this Facebook site or have a special section that lists obits and your tab section and just list them.

The Carolinas are known for big open arms and warm heartfelt people and you’re hindering this.

Come on, SNAP, help us out here. Come on, Stanly County, back me up on it. Maybe we can get them to do this.

All it takes is one employee five to 15 minutes a day. Heck, I’m retired I would do it part-time for you. Somebody is begging for a job out there.

Care about people and their feelings. Death is a very important matter in life and how it is treated.

One day you will see that.

Editor’s Note: The Stanly News & Press uploads obits once they are approved by the funeral home to thesnaponline.com.
