The Oakboro Regional Museum of History is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its founding. Members have committed to making this year a celebration of play with the theme of toys and games throughout the decades.
Exhibits in the museum will change periodically. Items to be displayed will include toys, games, etc. that children as well as adults have used for entertainment and recreation over the decades.
The first exhibit features eight doll collections and their history, doll furniture, hundreds of Matchbox cars and more.
The public is invited to come visit the museum in downtown Oakboro to enjoy the exhibits. Admission is free. Museum hours are 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday and Monday and 10 a.m. to noon Thursday.
