West Stanly softball continued its streak of shutouts to start the season staying undefeated with a 3-0 home win Thursday over Hickory Ridge.
Jordan Hatch kept her streak alive of shutout innings pitched for the Colts (5-0) throwing another seven-inning complete-game shutout. On 91 pitches, she struck out 16 batters and allowed just one hit.
The only thing Hatch did differently on Thursday was to walk a batter, her first free pass issued this season.
West got all three runs in the game on solo homers, including in the bottom of the second when Rosalyn McRae and Megan Stockton both went yard. Shelby Barbee led the bottom of the sixth off with a solo shot.
The Colts go to Forest Hills Tuesday then have a showdown Thursday with another team having a strong start to the season in South Stanly.
