Stanly County Historical Center Director Megan Sullivan is looking to go “back to the future,” or at least find some nice items from the decade that brought about the film.
Sullivan has plans for an exhibit at the museum filled with items from the 1980s.
Anyone with a Rubik’s cube, Cabbage Patch dolls, Transformers, Nike Air Jordans, leg warmers, parachute pants, jelly shoes and other ‘80s items is asked to stop by through April 20 to loan items for the nostalgia exhibit.
The center would also like to receive photos and remembrances from the 1980s and what stands out for local residents.

The museum is in downtown Albemarle at 157 N. Second St. and is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first Saturday of every month.
