Pfeiffer women’s lacrosse runs winning streak to six

The Pfeiffer University women’s lacrosse ran their winning streak to six in a 10-6 USA South win over Methodist on Saturday at Lefko Field.

Twin sisters Startraya and Starnice Galloway each scored three goals to lead Pfeiffer (6-0, 5-0 USA South). Gabby Bosak, Kaley Hyatt, Sophia Griffin and Meagan Bourque each had a goal in the win.

Falcon senior goalkeeper Sam Hanlon made 14 saves on the day, keeping the Falcons perfect on the season.

Pfeiffer dominated the Monarchs (1-4, 0-2), scoring the first three goals of the half. Methodist got on the board at the 11:55 mark, cutting the lead to 3-1, but the Falcons reeled off four straight goals to end the half, all from the Galloway sisters to take the 7-1 halftime lead.

Methodist opened the second half scoring with a goal at 28.48, but Meagan Bourque scored at 18:57 followed by a Starnice Galloway goal at 17:36 to put Pfeiffer up 9-2.

The Monarchs notched a man-up goal at 8:58, but Gabby Bosak responded at 4:29 with the final Falcon goal of the day on a pass from Sophia Griffin.

Methodist scored the final three goals of the game to provide the 10-6 final.

Pfeiffer will hit the road for a game Saturday at Meredith College at 12 p.m.
