More than 500 students compete in Mini-Medley Relay

More than 2,500 people came out to watch as as teams from Badin Elementary and Gray Stone Day School took home awards in Albemarle Parks and Recreation’s 41st annual Mini-Medley Relay March 23 at Central Elementary School.

Middle School Division Champion honors went to Gray Stone Day Middle School (Team Knights), with a time of 1:03:52.

The Elementary School Division Champion honors went to Badin Elementary (Team 1), with a time of 1:10:55.

Badin Elementary took home the banner for most participation with six Mini Medley teams and more than 60 participants.

Besides Badin and Gray Stone, Aquadale, Central, East Albemarle, Endy, Locust, Millingport, Oakboro Choice STEM, Richfield, Stanfield, Albemarle Middle, North Stanly Middle, Oakboro Middle, South Stanly Middle and West Stanly Middle schools participated.

The Mini Medley race consisted of 44 teams and more than 525 participants.
