With back-to-back 12-0 road wins last week over Central Academy, the West Stanly baseball team improved to 9-1 overall and 6-0 in Rocky River Conference play.

Last Wednesday, the Colts went on the road to Walter Bickett Stadium to take on the Cougars, getting a solid five innings on the mound from starter Cody Kidd. The senior struck out nine with no walks and scattered four hits.

Offensively, Colten Austin was 3 for 4 with three RBIs while Hunter Stoker had a triple and drove in two runs. Kidd added two RBIs of his own going 2 for 4 in the game.

West scored at least one run in each at-bat in the game, including scoring 10 times over the first three innings.

On Friday, Trent Wilson and Brady Parker combined to allow just two hits in shutting out Central. Wilson fanned three batters and neither pitcher walked a batter in the game.

Colton Austin drove in four runs in the win for West including a two-run blast in the top of the third inning. He finished with three hits in the game on four at-bats. Wilson and Hunter Stoker added two RBIs each while Cody Kidd was 2 for 4 with an RBI.

West Stanly was scheduled to play at East Montgomery Tuesday but the game was postponed due to the wintry weather. The Colts are scheduled to play a doubleheader at home Wednesday with the Eagles and a single game on the road in Biscoe Thursday.
