The West Stanly softball team swept a Rocky River Conference twinbill last Thursday with East Montgomery to stay perfect on the season.

With wins of 10-1 and 15-5, the Colts improved to 14-0 overall and 6-0 in RRC play.

In the first game, four extra base hits gave starting pitcher Jordan Hatch and the West defense plenty of run support. Shelby Barbee had three hits including a double and an RBI, while Karsyn Furr had two hits and two RBIs, also hitting a double. Rosalyn McRae added a solo homer as well. Hatch struck out 14 batters for the Colts allowing no earned runs.

In the second game, Hatch pitched four innings in relief and got the win, allowing no hits with eight strikeouts.

West belted out six round trippers in the second game getting two from Shelby Barbee and home runs from McRae, Kaylin Little, Ashlyn Hughes and Meredith Harwood. Little drove in four runs along with a triple while Barbee and Harwood added three RBIs each.

The Colts are scheduled to travel to the Anson Bearcats today, then host Carson in a non-conference matchup Thursday. West then hosts the Bearcats on Friday.
