The North Carolina Department of Transportation and the State Highway Patrol are teaming up for the “Spring Litter Sweep” campaign Saturday through April 27.

During this period, NCSHP shall work on litter prone roadways statewide and increase its efforts to enforce the state’s litter laws.

A public service campaign will encourage citizens who witness littering to dial *HP (*47) on their cellphones and provide communication center operators with the violator’s registration plate number, description of the vehicle and the location of the violation.
