STANLY WEATHER: Severe thunderstorms today
The temperature is near 70 at 6:30 a.m. Friday, but all will not be calm today.
The National Weather Service predicts winds “will be quite strong ahead of the storms,” with gusts up to 40 mph common.
Severe thunderstorms are likely, mainly between noon and 10 p.m., including “straight-line winds, large hail, torrential downpours and a few tornadoes. An isolated strong and long track tornado can’t be ruled out.”
The high will be near 76.
