National Guild of Piano Teachers to have auditions

Piano auditions sponsored by the National Guild of Piano Teachers will be Monday and Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Albemarle.

Greta Johnson from Hartsville, S.C. will be the adjudicator for this event.

She has a Bachelor of Music in Pedagogy from the Bob Jones University.

Johnson has been teaching piano for more than 23 years and also teaches general music at the Emmanuel Christian School in Hartsville.

Piano teachers Alma Rae Tucciarone, chairwoman, and Joyce Harwood will have students to play in these auditions in various categories.

Students will be evaluated on performance, repertoire and musicianship.

Students of Tucciarone in the National Division are Sophia Harrington, Reese Coble, Lydia Crisco and Lillianne Crisco.

Cindy Chen will play in the State Division and Ethan Klaker will play in the District Division.

The students of Harwood in the National Division are Allyson Harkey, Andrew Harwood, Amelia Holt, Spencer Lambert, Emma Nantz, Polly Nantz, Ethan Richards, Seth Richards, Kaydence Roberson, Wesley Rodgers, Rachel Stewart, Catherine Thornburg, Rachel Thornburg, Ben Williamson, Emily Williamson and Jack Williamson.

Students in the District Division are Tyler Horton and Ella Morgan.

State Division participants are Mia Benoy, Nate Ludeking, Claire Mauldin and Sanchez.

The Hobbyist Division students include Sarai Lopez, Jair Lopez and Mayeri Lopez.
