The baseball and softball tams of West Stanly High School have both qualified for the Rocky River Conference postseason tournaments, both earning first-round byes to advance to the team’s respective semifinals.

Baseball

West Stanly hosts the semifinals tonight and the tournament finals on Friday.

The Colts (18-4, 13-2 RRC) finished second in the regular season standings and was scheduled to take on No. 3 Central Academy (11-9, 7-8) at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Top seeded Mount Pleasant (15-7, 14-1) faced No. 4 Anson (9-12, 6-9) in the opening game of the semifinals round tonight.

Softball

West’s undefeated softball squad (18-0, 10-0 RRC) was scheduled on Wednesday to play No. 5 Anson (5-14, 3-7) at 5 p.m.

The winner will face either No. 2 Mount Pleasant (11-4, 8-2) or No. 6 East Montgomery (4-15, 0-10) on Friday at 6 p.m in the tournament finals.

All of the semifinals and finals softball games will be hosted by Anson County.
