South loses to East Surry 10-0

The South Stanly baseball season ended on the road Thursday night in a 10-0 five-inning loss to the 1A Western Region’s top seed, the East Surry Cardinals.

Crafton Mansfield took the loss for No. 16 South Stanly (15-10). He allowed four earned runs on four hits in 2.1 innings.

The Bulls did not have a hit in the game while East Surry (22-2) had 13 hits.

The Bulls finished the 2019 season having won at least one state playoff game in four of the last five seasons.

South graduates three seniors from this year’s squad: Jake Almond, Mabe Campbell and Jakob Fitzgerald.
