Post 76 wins, loses in two-game road trip to open season

The Stanly County Post 76 American Legion baseball season opened with two recent road games. Post 76 lost in nine innings at Randolph County then won two days later at Concord Post 51.

Randolph County 4, Stanly County 3

A walkoff single in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted Post 45 to a win last Thursday over Stanly by one run.

Jordan Howard started for Stanly and allowed two earned runs on five hits in four innings. Colby Lamm took the loss in relief.

Lukas Scott, Cody Kidd and Trent Wilson both had two hits in the game while Scott and Gage Dennis each drove in a run.

Stanly County 4, Concord 2

In a non-division game, Stanly rallied from an early 1-0 deficit with four runs over the middle innings to win by two runs.

Zach Grice earned the win for Stanly allowing an earned run on four hits while Carson Lowder earned the save.

Brady Parker drove in two runs with a bases-loaded walk and later a sacrifice fly.
